Caltrans: How to Get Certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).

  • African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Asian-Pacific and Subcontinent Asian Americans, along with women are presumed to be socially and economically disadvantaged by U.S. DOT.
  • Other individuals can also qualify as socially and economically disadvantaged on a case-by-case basis.

    ·     As a certified DBE firm, increase your opportunities by bidding on federal contracts and working on federal           projects. Grow your business!

OBEO ensures non-discrimination in the execution of contracts and promotes positive external customer relations. OBEO is also dedicated to increasing the participation of Small business (SB), DBE, and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise firms in both Federal and State contracting procurement. DBE's are for-profit small business concerns where socially and economically disadvantaged individuals own at least a 51% interest and also control management and daily business operations.
